“Split into few paragraphs”

“Incomplete sentences”

“No writing flow”

“Rephrase sentences”

(Basic academic writing knowledge)

***

“Add views”

“Where’s your own discussions?”

(Developing my voice as the academic writer)

***

“Focus the necessary resources of RBV theory that apply in this study”

(Writing smart)

***

“Previous literature examine this IV as first-order or second-order constructs?

“Where are the discussions to develop this hypothesis?”

“Discuss how IV relate to DV”

“Discussion should include the IV’s dimensions”

(Predicting variables’ relationships)

***

“Employees level of IVs discussions are not suitable”

“Focus on the organizational level perspective”

(Figuring my research is organizational level unit of analysis)

***

“Page 15-33 reads like a textbook. Please relate with the construction industry to make your work more relevant”.

“If possible give examples relate to your study”

(Learning critical thinking)

***

“How you draw the sample from population?”

“How about sample size?”

“What do you mean by contractors? Are they sub-contractors or main contractors?"

“Who is your target respondent? Who are going to answer your questionnaires?”

“So, how many sets of questionnaire you plan to distribute?”

“What’s your sampling technique?”

(Methodology part navigates my research directions)

***

“Where’s is your variables’ operational definitions?

“Cite the authors in the variables’ operational definitions”

“The measurements you adapt from whom?”

(Quantitative research relies on measurements/instruments)

***

“Table must fit in one page”

“Allocate space for each paragraph in the table”

“The title of the table must be clear and precise”

(The tips on the use of tables to report the findings)

***

“Your item loadings, AVE and CR are incorrect as your variables have dimensions”

“It’s so obvious when your HTMT results pretty high”

(Constructs has two types: uni-dimension and multi-dimensions. Each has different ways of analysis)

***

“Recap the study findings in Chapter 5”

“Using other words in research objectives to show differentiation”

(Supervisors compromise with each other)

***

“Explain the findings first and justify it later”

(The way of journals deliver their discussion section can’t replicate into UUM thesis)

***

“You need to stress why study corporate environmental citizenship is important since it is the main gap”

(Referring the current state and desired state of the corporate environmental citizenship helps to identify the corporate environmental citizenship gap)

#Current state=managerial issues
#Desired state=practical issues

(It’s important to present ideas and thoughts in words to the readers)

***

(Examiner not pays attention on my study variables)

***

“It would be beneficial to show the original and modified questionnaire items”

“Indicate range of cronbach alpha for page 67-73”

All Roads Lead to Lake Toba, Berastagi and Medan (Part 5)

A place that sells praying garments, textiles and fabrics in Medan city
Muslims' telekung and hijabs worn for praying
great fabric at cheap prices, 150,000 -280,000 IDR. In which friend says these fabrics were not made in Medan and import from other parts of Indonesia.

I may find wide varieties and cheaper fabrics if I travel to Bandung.
Once we out from the outlet, a groups of souvenir sellers approach us and they tried to sell anything to us.

They're super annoying and wouldn't leave us even we refuse them for 1000 times. The best way to avoid them-telling them I have bought everything.
One of the highlight of the Medan tour-Madani Hotel, a 4 star hotel. Wise location as it's in the town center; opposite Raya Mosque and next to shopping mall.

Madani Hotel has great staff. One of the concierge associates (the above picture) ushered us to the guest room and showed us all the room basic necessities.

The rest of the staff are always smiling, courteous and they make my visit so lovely with their charms and grace.
I love the room because the room is spacious with basic amenities. The only difference with the other hotels I stayed is it provides al-quaran and sejadah.
Madani Hotel also easy access to the food courts. Here we tried the Sate Padang Medan i.e grilled clams and chickens
Nasi impit, grilled chickens and clams
This is the unique dessert stall, Surabi Bandung in the food court
The best seller of Surabi Bandung-durian cheese cake. It tastes wise-moist and accentuated with delicate aroma of durian
Chicken martabak. Pretty taste average and nothing to shout about in my opinion
Famous Bika Ambon in Medan,Zulaikha. In fact, it's the tapioca cakes
It comes with many flavors. This is the pandan flavors.
Maimun Palace, icon of Medan city

Dutch influence of windows and doors

 Tau Sa Piah Medan
Medan layer cakes looks pale in comparison Sarawak layer cakes which are more rich and defining flavors.

Sarawak layer cakes is the best #sarawakcakelapisisthebest #sarawakiansupportsarawak
Roti bohong translates to "lie bread", which it was lovingly called due to the breads without fillings.
One of the must buy gift from Medan, Bolu Meranti
It's a rolled cakes with variations of flavors e.g cheese, chocolate, cheese
I get myself a blueberry filling rolled cake. This cake is not too sweet and tangy. Everything is in the right amount.
Another must buy gift from Medan, Medan Napoleon.
Napoleon green tea, 50,000 IDR.

Outer layer is green tea cakes topping with white and dark chocolates whereas inner layer fulled with nuts and chocolates. It tastes wise overall.

Medan Napoleon lasts for around 1 week although I haven't put it in the fridge.
First time encountering auto water dispenser at Kualanamu Airport Medan; suitable for lazy people like me
The immigration arrangements in Kualanamu airport is ridiculous. The immigration checkpoints are not ahead all the gate numbers.

Instead, it's in the middle of the gate numbers. How the passengers clear their immigration if they don't take the initiatives to find the immigration checkpoints?

Our gate number fortunately passes the immigration checkpoints and soon realized we should stand in the line for immigration checking.

All Roads Lead to Lake Toba, Berastagi and Medan (Part 4)

First meal when reaching Berastagi town area
grilled fish in rich coconut soup
Staying at Green Garden Hotel, Berastagi for a night

Love the hotel architecture.

Room was spacious and face the pool. But no one is in the one pool as the cold weather
There is a hot shower. Iron was not provided. It is require to ask the housekeeping to do the ironing and charges applied.

WIFI only available in the lobby but the signal was very poor.

Limited choice of breakfast. Only nasi goreng and a cup of coffee to fill my stomach
A very cold morning at Berastagi
Dinner has a touch of Chinese cuisines: bee hoon soup and stir fry vegetables. The last dish, sweet and sour brinjals wins my heart the most; spicy, sour and sweet.
Friends rave about Fresh Care medicated oil and each was16,000 IDR. Why don't I give a try?
I can conclude it's user friendly by packaging in a roll on and effective for dizziness, I swear
Horse riding is one of the activities at Gundaling Hill

Gundaling Hill is the vantage point for 2 volcanoes, Mount Sibayak and Mount Sinabung.

 This is Mount Sinabung
Mount Sinabung erupts after I ended my Medan trip.  Holy shit!
Berastagi is in the foothill
Photography service who offers to take our photos and print the photos instantly.
As a agricultural town, Berastagi has many types of fruits
Oranges
  Avocado
