Pre-Chinese New Year Preparations

Update on **20 January 2017**

Touching up my hair with little sister, Mickey in Sarikei.

My head became so light and the hairs shined

Update on **23 January 2017**

It's all about shopping, shopping and shopping in Sibu.

Beside ourselves, our own car, Mr Innova also send to Toyota service center for examining. Few days ago's car accident prompted us to do so.
Very good customer service at the Toyota service center, Sibu. We all served with coffee, Milo and cookies.
This year is Year of Rooster. Pa Pa & Ma Ma said the rooster in Star Mega Mall looked ugly. The rooster decorations in the shopping malls they saw in Peninsular Mall more charming.
Mama: you see, tree also celebrate Chinese New Year. Ang Ang Teng Lung so sui!
Mama busy searching for abalones during Chinese New Year
We mistaken thought they were sea cucumber instead of beef tendon. The labels were wrong. At the end, as the Buddhist we didn't buy them
 Stocking up floor cleaning detergents
All the Chinese New Year snacks' that you could possible thought of
JoJo & Mickey always followed Mama to help her find the related products for Chinese New Year.

Whereas, Naruto like above photo played the bind of the carbonated drinks. I on the other hand took photo for blog purpose.
morning tea times at Lao You Gui Gui, Star Mega Mall
Crazy about the Tao Hu Hua

After half an hour, having lunch at Marry Brown.

We cancelled our plan to have lunch at the good restaurants when we all famished. Going to the good restaurants in town area took times.

Plus, indulging in the Marry Brown within Star Mega Mall liked one stop center. Eating and shopping went hand in hand.

Mama gave me and JoJo a new year gift, twin watches. Lovers watches turned to sisters watches. Hahaha
Replacing old Iphone casing to the new one, which was transparent type
Then, we're at new Sing Kwong.
Weekdays still lacked of customers. And the queues not too long. Pheww. Mama got our favorite at here, shark fin to make the soup.
This was Giant Supermarket. Clearly not much patrons compared Star Mega Mall and Sing Kwong.

It's surprised to find the Chinese New Year's cookies and snacks were cheaper than Star Mega Mall and Sing Kwong. Mama instructed us to come here first for next year's Chinese New Year

My to-do list for Chinese New Year was checked like below:

New clothes
New hair cut
Shaping the eyebrow
New Iphone casing
New watch
Stocking up snacks, cookies, cakes, Mandarin oranges and drinks

Year of rooster, I'm ready to welcome you. Please be kind with me.

Realizing this Chinese New Year, I had more new clothes and accessories compared last year. I never expected getting new stuff brought so much joy to myself.

Now I believed certain women loved to spend their hard-earned money on themselves especially on festive seasons. E.g buying Christmas presents for themselves-one way they loved themselves.

I should slowly practiced it too. It was hoped that I had such strong will.

A Car Accident That I Never Forget In My Entire Lifetime

Update on **20 January 2017**

I had been in my hometown, Saratok for celebrating incoming Chinese New Year 2017. Three sisters and I made our way to Sarikei for hair cutting yesterday.

It was believed that Sarikei had better hair saloons with good hair cutting skills. We drove Mr Innova by our own without Pa Pa.  All of us felt bad for letting Pa Pa waited for us.

Thus, Naruto was at the driver seat whereas JoJo was next to it. Mickey and I were at the backseat.

JoJo, Naruto, Mickey and I had the good times. We laughed and joked with each other while listening to the Chinese New Year songs in the car.

All of sudden, our car seemed lost control. It swung here and there.  I first thought Naruto played with us.

“Naruto, what are you doing?” JoJo said without hesitation.

“The power steering is not in good condition”. “It becomes so light till completely can’t steer it”

I even witnessed the power steering was 360 degrees turned around. At the critical moment, the foot brake was not in functioning too.

JoJo, Naruto, Mickey and I were so shocked. The fear overwhelmed us. JoJo managed to swerve to the other road side as incoming street lamp posts.

Huge financial losses will be incurred. However, the car did not swerve to the other roadside smoothly.

Instead, it had several turns. All of us screamed loudly. “Can’t control anymore, almost collide.” Naruto warned us.

Within the seconds, the car stopped when the muddy paths of the roadside trapped it. Phew….. We were so relieved after that. Everything was over and everyone was safe and sound.

Shortly, JoJo out from the car to examine the car tyre. 1 of the tyre was approximately out from the car wheel.

The tyre was like this

We immediately called our parents to tell the car accident and assured them we were safe currently.

An Iban middle age man then approached us to ask if we were alright. He also reminded us to stay away from the car.

He said this area is prone to car accidents. 1 month at least had 6 or 7 cases of car accidents Moreover, another Iban man with huge belly concerned us too.

He continuously advised us to careful with the incoming cars when crossing the roads. There was a hut for resting.

He helped us to call the truck service. The truck service man came within few minutes. He told us the car was drive able after pulling out from the muddy path.

The car is successfully pulled out with the charge RM 80. Indeed, financial loss might prevent disaster (破财消灾)

And yes, it was the greatest blessing because all of us no injuries and suffers. I silently thanked to Buddha for escaping the car accidents when continuing the journey to Sarikei.

I learned two things from the car accident.

First, I always saw car accidents reported in the newspaper and television and never expected it happened on me. The car accidents could take the precious life in the split of seconds. So, don’t take life for granted. Loved more, felt more and lived more.

Second, I was happy to found that the 2 Iban middle aged men were helpful, friendly and kind. I can’t described how beautiful Sarawakians’ inner sides. Their helpfulness, friendliness and kindness were unbelievable. I firmly believed they were not the few.

Thank you for restoring and reinforcing human faith. I loved you, guys!

Thank you for everything, my dearest Tok Nan

11 Day of 2017- a sad day for me as a Sarawakian that are in outside at the current moment.

Facebook news feed flood the death of Sarawak beloved Chief Minister, Tan Sri Adenan Satem a.k.a Tok Nan.

To me, he is the one that fight for Sarawakians’ rights. Other people choose to neglect or put aside.

He is the one that make sure all the races live in peace and harmony. We are equal whereby 1 Malaysia is not served as the slogan. It turns to be the reality. It makes me proud to say I’m a Sarawakian.

He abolishes all the tolls charges in Sarawak. He is committed to make Sarawak a better home for all.

He fights against the corruptions through implementing integrity policy and transparency of administration in order to boost the economics of Sarawak.

He makes English as the official language in Sarawak when he realizes the graduates nowadays are unemployed due to the poor command of English.

He decides to recognize the Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) and UEC holder are entitled to join the civil service. He promises this decision would not change regardless the objection from others.

He has the strong determination in developing Sarawak although his health and age is declining. He said “I needs another five years to realm Sarawak before he retires”

Thank you Tok Nan as a great leader for doing everything especially arising fighting spirit of Sarawakians that sleep for very long times.

You always loved by all where Instagram fulls with Sarawakians’ condolences. I’m in tears when browsing each condolence.

I even like all the condolences related Instagram feeds as one way to support Sarawakians. You deserve my respect, Tok Nan.

You’ll be missed and remembered. Always. Forever. Rest in peace, my true hero, my good leader, my role model, my spiritual leader

Your fighting spirit always be with us!

“Mom, why do the best people die so soon?”  “When you’re in a garden, which flowers do you pick first?” “The most beautiful ones”

Listening Genuinely, Speak Less

Update on **1 January 2017**

peaceful road and nice views in the campus

A former student messaged me through Facebook couple days ago. He was the only student that remained to say hello regularly after I left the former workplace.

We updated each other’s recent life. But most of the conversation revolved around his grumbles about the current college.

College’s terrible management system, unfairness of the lecturer, poor friendship-the list kept going. All his messages quite long compared to me who was short and simple.

I knew, he just wanted to voice out his dissatisfactions. He wanted a listener even though we were not face to face.

I believed God created us as the humans had 2 ears but 1 mouth signified we should listen more rather than talking.

Sincerely and genuinely listened make him the important person in the world at that moment.

Listening really provided much comfort.

He also wanted someone that went through the same thing and told him everything will be fine. So, I told him:

That’s fine to get C+ instead of B or B+. That’s fine to take more subjects relative to other peers to solve the credit hours problems according to the management decision.

That’s fine to worry for financial as he needed to support the school fees by himself. That’s fine to headache for parking spaces as he depended on himself for schooling.

Everything will be fine along with tons of encouragements and motivations. Human ears not only subjected to noises and chatters but also encouragement, comfort and confidence.

At that moment, I didn’t want to give “mature talk”-about how he should change his perceptions towards lecturer bias and poor friendship. Thinking positive for the parking spaces and financial issues.

I didn’t want to take the risk. I wish I could continue this type of listening relationship to spread the seeds of hope, love and peace for him.
