All Roads Lead to Lake Toba, Berastagi and Medan (Part 2)

“Parapat accommodation: Danau Toba International Cottage Parapat”

We spend a night at Danau Toba International Cottage Parapat. The plus points are the room is spacious with balcony and lake views.

The lake view from the balcony is wonderful and breathtaking.

Balcony, ceiling fan and overlooking the lake Toba

The location is great. Just short walk from Parapat harbor where cross to and from Samosir Island.

Able having breakfast with lakeside view at the pool restaurant. I have the nice coffee at the pool restaurant. It’s the best coffee I’ve ever tested in Medan.

I love pool restaurant’s nasi goreng too. Simple but satisfying.

Downsides:

The room has no ceiling fan and air-conditioner. It is cold at night.

The room has no WIFI. WIFI only can be found at restaurant and swimming pool area. So, the only thing we can do in the room is watching television.

The wardrobes and bathroom are lack of proper maintenance.

“Parapat harbor ---> Ferry ride to Samosir Island”

The first ferry to Samosir Island starts on 8.30 am and depart every hour.

At the top deck and the breezes blow my face. Comfortable.

Majority of Europe people stay at the guesthouse or inns at the island as many watersports e.g kayaking, banana boats, jet skis.

Tomok villages still predominantly using kerosene for their basic needs
clear waters, naive kids

Lake Toba is huge.
Sihobuk peanuts of Samosir Island

Tomok market. Many shops are selling the same things: keychains, shirts, bags. And do  bargain till the lowest prices.
