“Batak
museum”
Batak is the residents of Samosir Island.
Batak people still live in the long house where the people live
at the back of the long house.
“Kings
Sidabutar graveyard”
Kings Sidabutar graveyard.
Majority Kings Sidabatur adopts Christianity.
Prior entering graveyard, we’re requested to wear a piece of
cloth as a sign of respect to the Kings Sidabutar, the ancient ruling of Batak
villages Samosir Island.
Upon entering the graveyard, I was attracted by a tombstone
which resembles the faces of man and woman.
That is the tombstone of first King Sidabutar. He is the first
one set foot in Samosir Island. The
largest man face is said to be the face of first King Sidabutar.
Whereas, the woman sitting at the top of the tombstoneis the
woman who King Sidabutar fell in love for years but gone missing.
The other man face at the bottom of the tombstone is said to be
the King’s guardian.
There are benches areas with different colors: black, white and
maroon. White colors means paradise and luckily I sat on the right color.
Wall carvings of lizards and breasts which symbolized
friendship. I found Mr. Alil explanation associates lizards is they extend the
helping hands to Batak people and in return Batak people provide milks to them.
“Simarjarunjung
Hill”
We stopped at Simarjarunjung Hill on our way to Berastagi from
LakeToba.
I can conclude it is the commercialized place. You need to pay
IDR 5000 for all spots e.g tree house, to take the nice photos.
Grilled corn of Simarjarunjung Hill with chili sauce. But I don’t
interest as I can’t handle the spicy grilled corn.
This guesthouse is famous for banana fritters and ginger tea
“Sipiso piso waterfall”
Enjoying Lake Toba from the distance
fried fritters e.g tempeh, banana, tauhu isi, risoles
