Virgin Visit to Malacca (Part III)

After sightseeing in the heritage area, Naruto insisted to try the layer cake in Nadeje, Mahkota Parade outlet that was located within the short distance.

It was packed and crowded
It contained 2 types of layer cake: alcoholic and non-alcoholic
Mango yogurt, double coco and forever young
Mango yogurt. I love the this cake texture that rich with strong mango flavour
Double coco flavor. It tasted like ordinary chocolate cake. I didn't think this cake is delectable like what the waiter said.
The more Naruto bited Nadeje layer cakes, the more hungry she was. We went to next door KFC to fill her stomach
We choose to stay in Discovery guesthouse (Naruto had the previous great experience to stay there)
Unfortunately, we're being allocated to the guestroom that was in the next street

Positive reviews:

1. Centrally located. The customers can walk within the short distance to various tourists spots.
2. The guestroom, toilet and shower room were very clean

Negative reviews:

1. The guestroom (that was allocated to us) was not in the top of the discovery cafe. We had to across the next street (in the Indian street Malacca) to get our guestroom.
2. The toilet and shower area were separated with the guestroom. The staff in the Discovery Cafe told me the guestroom was attached with the toilet and shower (1 week before I contacted the guesthouse to book 1 night stay)
3. I was informed that 2 single room rate with air-conditioner per night was RM 60 (1 week before I contacted the guesthouse to book 1 night stay). Actually, it charged RM 50 per night.
4. The walls in the guesthouse is extreme thin. We even can hear the conversation of other customers clearly. During the late night, the footstep sounds were very obvious. (It's very suffer for the light sleeper like me)
5. We requested for early check in but not allowed by the staff in the discovery cafe. The exact check-in time suppose was on 3pm.
6. Weak WIFI service

After check-in and took shower, we explored the Jonker Walk night market on 6pm. The night market was available on weekend.
Vintage items

Korea buckwheat pillow
cute doggies
wide varieties of sauces

One of the famous local snacks, Ding Ding candy (叮叮糖). According to Naruto, the reason it called as "Ding Ding" was "cut" the large pieces of candy by "knocking" it into small pieces with iron bar. It will have the "ding ding" sound.
cute Hello Kitty cookies
The first snacks that attracted my attention in the night market.

Suggested by Naruto to try the Nyonya Laksa
and Asam Laksa. Both types of Laksa were not liking my taste. As a Sarawakian, I liked the Sarawak Laksa most.

Overall, the price charged by the hawkers were expensive. Different stalls had different prices for the same product. For instance, Naruto was interested a thermos that sold RM 25 while another stall was selling the same thermos with the price RM 28. At the end, we opted not to buy in there.

Most of the foods in the night market didn't stimulate my appetite. The exhausted feeling and dehydration totally decreased my appetite. I had no idea Rosamond and JoJo love the night market since both of them had been discussing this night market quite few times. Food lovers like Rosamond and JoJo will feel excited and love to try the different snacks. I'm not that type!

The street was super crowded and definitely it's a difficult task for me to take the good photos.  :(:(
