Discover Hong Kong Day 2 Breakfast-香港仔鱼蛋河(川记)

Our first breakfast in Hong Kong took place at 香港仔鱼蛋河(川记 ). In fact not much cha chan teng (i.e restaurant) in Mong Kok area operated in such early morning,7.30am although there were a lot of chan chan teng at there. Luckily, few chan chan teng had been started operating and first attempted in trying Hong Kong breakfast. When in Hong Kong,do as Hong Kongers do.

It was very empty
The main business was handmade meat & fish balls. The customers even allowed to buy the handmade meat & fish balls separately.

Hong Kong style receipt and must bring to front counter for payment after meal.
This milk tea came along with the breakfast set. Besides milk tea, there was a coffee option
Shredded ham with soup macaroni. I loved the soup broth very much. It tasted light but aromatic. It went well with salty shredded ham and macarroni.
Fried egg, ham and butter bread. Until now,I still not very sure the proper method to eat these 3 foods. Shall I eat separately 3 of them? put the ham & bread into butter bread? eat the fried egg and ham with macaroni soup?
Noodles with luncheon meat. The noodles was Hong Kong style instant noodles (i.e Chu Qian Yi Ding/出前一丁). I'm not fancy to Chu Qian Yi Ding/出前一丁. The noodles was not so aromatic, the texture tasted similar with Malaysia Mamee noodles. Overall, it tasted average only. In contrast, I loved the soup broth of the noodles.
The 2 sunny side up looked nice. Needless to say, the fried eggs were crispy in edge.
The sugar packets and toothpicks were placed underneath the table drawer. The staff there alerted me through pulling his table drawer purposely while he had his breakfast too at the same time.

Any idea why she had such victory sign?
I preferred the usual victory sign when seeing the wonderful breakfast

Above breakfast were the common breakfast options that could be found in every Chan Chaan Teng. The similarities of these breakfast were the combination of eastern and western culture. Like above example, macaroni, ham and butter bread were the western foods while the soup broth, noodle soup, lucheon meat were eastern foods. The possible reason might due to Hong Kong was the British colonial and it directly influenced the food cultures. Anyway, it considered as great eye-opener for me.

In conclusion, Hong Kong breakfast set were very big and 1 breakfast set actually enough catered for 2 persons. So, don't over order to save the money since the food and beverages for Hong Kong quite costly too.
