Hoi Keng Congee, Mong Kok

We had congee as our supper at Hoi Keng Congee, Mong Kok. We fully utilized our times because we wished to try Hong Kong foods as more as we can before we left.

It's next to Hung Fa Roasted Meat Restaurant (宏发烧腊) at Mong Kok
Interior looked very cleaned. Just realized it on latest Hong Kong TVB drama, Lord of Shanghai (枭雄). The more episodes I watched, the more I like because the plot story became intense currently
According to the waitress, it operated from 6am until 2am everyday. Thus, it had shift work. If not, the workers will run away. Also, their health will be affected if working in the long hours for long term.
It reminded me one of the TVB drama that the stingy employer asked the employees to get the free chilli, tomato sauces and pepper powder from Cha Chaan Teng. It's an easy task because these free and big sizes of condiments just right in front of the customers.
 I ordered fish congee
The fish congee pretty decent.  It’s so soft, creamy, smooth and succulent resulted from the long hours of boiling. The sliced fishes were very fresh and added the sweetness to the congee. The sliced gingers and onions also pushed the flavor up to notch.
First attempted in trying Hong Kong boat congee (艇仔粥). Hong Kong boat congee consisted of seafood, pork and peanuts. It was so tasteless and no aromatic at all.
Twisted roll (炸两). It's Yau Cha Kwai (油条)wrapped by Cheong Fan (肠粉)The Yau Cha Kwai was so crispy and crunchy. Salty Yau Cha Kwai went very well with tasteless Cheong Fan. Both were perfect combination.

P/S: Above was my personal opinion and taste buds may vary others
